34390018-opt Carolyn is an Anusara Inspired Yoga™ Teacher who teaches with a sincere, loving presence to encourage all students to discover the intrinsic goodness and creativity within themselves. Her dynamic classes weave clear, precise instructions with a heart oriented theme to inspire students to feel empowered and filled with self love. Carolyn creatively blends her interpersonal qualities, life experiences and technical knowledge to guide students towards greater happiness, peace, and well being. Inspired by her desire to live a happy, healthy, meaningful life, she skillfully challenges each student to advance in their own practice, build self esteem, and ultimately unveil their innate worthiness. Her dedication to the study and practice of yoga and meditation supports her intention to uphold the life affirming principals of Anusara Yoga, while encouraging and celebrating the individuality and creative self expression of each student. With deep respect, she warmly invites all students to participate in the kula; the community of the heart, to experience diversity, difference and inclusiveness.

Experience and Training

Carolyn Fahey R.N., R.Y.T., H.H.C. is a Registered Nurse, Holistic Health Counselor, Anusara Inspired™ Yoga Teacher and Certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance. Carolyn is a graduate of St. Vincent’s Medical Center School of Nursing, The Institute For Integrative Nutrition, and is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She has studied yoga with John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga®, Senior Certified Anusara Teachers, Todd Norian and Ann Greene, Professor Douglas Brooks, one of the world’s leading scholars of Hindu Tantrism, Sally Kempton, a nationally recognized teacher of meditation and tantric philosophy, and Martin Kirk, author of Hatha Yoga Illustrated.

Carolyn has been teaching in the Anusara style of yoga since 2001 and has assisted Anusara yoga workshops and teacher trainings with Todd Norian and Ann Greene for more than 7 years. She has taught a wide variety of workshops, including Hip Openers, Handstand Basics, Introduction to Pranayama and Meditation, Shoulder Basics, New Years Day Celebration, and a trip to Kent Falls. Carolyn teaches weekly public classes and offers private sessions for students who wish to practice in the privacy of their own home. During the summer she teaches yoga on the beach in Fairfield, CT.
